The Smart D8 Community Coordinator role was established to strengthen links between Smart D8 and the diverse communities of Dublin 8, ensuring that local voices help shape projects and initiatives focused on health and wellbeing.
This role is delivered through a partnership with The Liberties Community Project, and works directly with residents, community organisations, local schools, healthcare services and other stakeholders across Dublin 8. The aim is to ensure that Smart D8 intiatives respond to real local needs and create long-term, positive impacts on the physical and mental health of the community.
The Community Coordinator engages with groups through outreach, consultation, workshops and events, and provides support to connect ideas and feedback from the public to Smart D8-supported projects. This includes helping to identify new collaboration opportunities and ensuring that health and wellbeing initiatives are inclusive, accessible, and relevant to people living and working in the area.
This role is funded through Smart D8, a collaborative initiative led by 12 partner organisations: Smart Dublin, The Digital Hub, Dublin City Council, the Guinness Enterprise Centre (GEC), Health Innovation Hub Ireland, HSE Digital Transformation, the National College of Art and Design (NCAD Dublin), St Patrick’s Mental Health Services, St James’s Hospital, Trinity College Dublin, the Trinity Translational Medicine Institute, and the Tyndall National Institute. The initiative is administered by The Digital Hub on Thomas Street.
