
Mary P. Corcoran is Professor Emeritus in Sociology at Maynooth University where she spent most of her academic career. Her research and teaching interests lie primarily in the fields of urban sociology, food and sustainability, public cultures and the sociology of migration. She is a graduate of
Trinity College Dublin and of Columbia University, New York. She holds a Professional Diploma in Creativity, Innovation and Leadership from the UCD Innovation Academy (2022). Mary has a long history of engaged research, partnering with civil society and community organisations over the years to produce evidence-informed, policy relevant research.
A former chairperson of the Childhood Development Initiative, Mary is currently a Director, of the Citizens Information Board and of the Institute for Public Health. She has a long association with Dublin 8 through her involvement with the Fatima Regeneration Project.
